whobody has a new favorite food?

Well...'tis the season for sweet corn! The kids have LOVED getting to eat their fill of sweet corn the last few weeks. I thought I would just quickly post a few pictures of them eating their new favorite food! (and favorite meal, by the way....steak, mashed potatoes, and sweet corn). Enjoy!

Of course, Keaton and Lola had to strategize the BEST way to get as many kernals off as possible! YUM.

whobody wants to know what Nash has been up to?

I thought that since most of my posts are about Keaton and Lola's accomplishments, I would share some pictures of Nash and what he has been up to since May...... Lots of pictures....but will probably worth your wait to see them.

Enjoy. I know I have....

In May, Nash decided to organize one of my cupboards (and then get in the container after I had picked things up....).

He likes to get himself his own water (or tries to) with Lola's tea cups....

of course....a cozy place to sit

and again....cozy....

and again....cozy...

hmmmmm....I guess this drum will work great for a helmet too~

He hopped in the bath with his jammies on (right after Lola got out).  He, of course, had gotten out 10 minutes previous to this picture.....

And really, what one and a half year old doesn't like to pour their own cheerios in the morning?

not to mention, coffee (okay, I stopped this one right away)

favorite place (for some reason) the stool....
 and again.

 yee haw!

 safety first.

And, Nash's favorite thing to do this summer is get Horsey Rides from Keaton! :)

whobody swims like a fish?

I thought I would share some pictures of the older two kids doing swimming lessons. They had 2 weeks of group lessons this year and LOVED it.  They are both now very comfortable in the water and are able to actually SWIM! (unbelievable)  They were able to be in the same level which made it fun for both of them *and me!
 Lovin' Lola's funny face....
At the end of every lesson they had "free time" which basically meant that they could go off of the diving boards. They were the only 2 out of their level that were willing to go...and they went over and over and over again!  I am amazed at how much more brave they have become in the water (and in general).
By the end, Lola had perfected her 'form' of trying to jump in like a toothpick...
and Keaton had perfected his landing to end up directly on the buoy. :)
And, drum roll please.....they both went off of the HIGH DIVE a few times. I was only able to capture Keaton on camera, but they both did it! I was amazed....that is a LONG way up there!

whobody is not a horse....or an alien?

Well...baby update. First of all...turns out I do NOT have a horse in my belly. (Jason has been telling Lola that maybe THAT is why my belly is getting so big.)  After seeing the pictures from the ultrasound, the kids are a little worried the baby is an alien....but we set them straight on that too.

On Friday, we had our "20 week" ultrasound.  (I was actually 20 weeks and 4 days.)  The baby is measuring 20 weeks and 9 days....so 5 days ahead, but not enough ahead to move my due date.  The doctor says that everything looks great with the baby...so that is always a relief!  We did not find out the gender of the baby (we like the surprise on the birthday). So that was about it! They check lots of things that could be wrong...but found nothing. So as the doctor said (and always says) a boring ultrasound is a good ultrasound.  Enjoy the 'pictures' below.

We really are SUPER excited to meet this little one....but not until after harvest!  The actual due date is still December 12th....so I am just over halfway there.  The kids are very much looking forward to having another little one around.  For the record....at this point Lola thinks it is a girl, I think it is a girl....and Keaton and Jason think it is a boy.  (Jason's boy guess was intensified when he saw the face of the baby 2 pictures down....) We will just have to wait and see...

The picture below is the 4D picture...which is pretty amazing. I know EXACTLY who I think this baby looks like in the ultrasound pictures, but I will see if this picture strikes a familiar chord with any of you..... :)  Something pretty cool (or gross, depending on who you are) about the picture below is that you can see the umbilical chord laying over baby's shoulder! There were other pictures where the chord was more clear but the baby's face was not. Very awesome to have a sneak peek at our little one....

And, of course, I had to share this last picture.....when we saw the baby doing this, Jason said...oh look, the baby is going to take after Lola!!!

Of course, the baby looks like it is PICKING HIS/HER NOSE! :) Already a funny one.... The ultrasound was pretty much over after that, because then I couldn't stop laughing, so she couldn't really get any more clear pictures.

whobody rocked the royals game?

We planned our trip to Kansas City to coincide with a weekend that the Royals were in town.  We wanted to take the kids to a baseball game, and we knew that Evan and Julie and Wes and Sara would be so much fun to go to a game with!  We took it easy at the hotel for the day, and then met up with our friends at 4 to head to the Stadium.

We first 'tailgated' in the parking lot. It was very hot for this prego mama, but the kids had a blast playing catch and eating snacks.

Nash was obviously the entertainment for all of us.... and Keaton and Lola just took turns 'surprising' the guys by putting ice down the backs of their shirts.

After getting good and HOT! :) we headed into the stadium to find our seats and watch the game! Our seats were excellent....we had a great view AND we were in the shade! The kids really had a great time moving around amongst the adults.... and I know I said that having TWO sets of parents for 3 kids was great at the zoo...but even better is THREE sets of parents!  One set for each kid! :) It was great.

Take special notice of Julie and Lola and their matching pigtails!!!! Lola LOVED that!

Nash LOVED his new best friend, Sara....she pretty much carried him around all night (bless her soul) and when she wasn't carrying or holding Nash, Lola was ALL over her. Mostly, though, Lola and Keaton stuck with Evan and Julie! They had a blast!
Nash did get a little sleepy....but he survived until the end of the game! Such a trooper.

Our family picture for the night!

We went down to the place in the outfield where you were super close to the field. Julie kept having Keaton yell "hey, 34, your shoe is untied!" to the Detroit outfielder.  She then convinced him that he helped the Royals with the game! :) CUTE....he was obviously filled with JOY the whole night!
AND of course, we had to ride the carousel! Pictures below.....

It was a great night and an EXCELLENT trip to Kansas City. BIG thanks to Evan and Julie and Wes and Sara for being such wonderful hosts and showing us such a great time. *(Oh yeah, and helping us so much with the kids!)

whobody LOVED the K.C. Zoo's petting zoo?

Did I mention that there was a petting zoo at the KC Zoo? It was awesome. :) All it had was sheep, but the kids loved it....loved it....loved it....loved it.  I had so many pics from the zoo, I thought I would put these in a separate post. (Only one more post, and I will actually be done blogging about our family vacation that was almost a month ago!)  So, here are the kids enjoying the petting zoo...

Keaton did great for a boy who....only one year ago....would not have even entered the gated area. He has REALLY grown up in the past year!

I will say that the highlight of the petting zoo was NASH and his love for these animals. He just couldn't get enough!!! Below, he was trying to kiss the sheep....(yes, we stopped him.)
So, of course, the sheep tried to kiss him back.....
SO MUCH FUN!!!
