whobody is ready to go?

So....Nash got up at 5 this morning. (He has slept til 9 the last 2 mornings...so I think he was making up for lost time.)  He is FULL OF IT today. For real.

He went outside to play after breakfast (in his jammies shirt and swimming trunks, of course) and came back into the house wearing this:

Cruz's life jacket and Lola's zebra ballet flats

these are the shoes he wears around the house ALL OF THE TIME!

A little bit later...he came back in wearing this (these pictures were really less than 1 hour apart).  He had a slight accident in the first outfit...

You see, he buckled the strap that goes between the legs...and was playing outside, but was unable to pull his pants down to pee BECAUSE of that strap.... luckily, he had already taken off Lola's zebra shoes.

FOR SOME REASON...after I changed his shorts and took his jammies shirt off...he changed into Keaton's life jacket and then picked a DIFFERENT pair of Lola's shoes to wear.....

Mark another one up to me choosing my battles....

whobody needs more sugar?

okay...this is the last one for the day...

I am just so far behind, I had to do a few today!!!
(and I am waiting for the next load of laundry to finish...)

Our kids (like most kids) LOVE sugared cereal.  In our house, the rule is that you can ONLY have sugared cereal on the WEEKENDS. So...when Saturday rolls around, Nash is JACKED up for his cereal.... here is what he eats for breakfast on the weekend:

In case you can't tell...that is a mixture of "marshmallows, sugar chex, and tix"
(Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Trix).

Yes, we let him mix them...and he actually DOES eat it...but, not before asking for SUGAR to go on top of it (just like Cheerios)...

and NO...we don't let him put sugar on top of his sugared cereal... Do we look crazy??? (probably...with that mixture)

Oh, the joys of having a 2 year old. He is REALLY great!

whobody is a little chunky for their bumbo?

LOOK at those legs.
Don't you just want to pinch them??? This kid is so "healthy"....I cannot tell you how many times I hear "I think you need to start feeding that baby!" every time we take him anywhere. :) I love it. He is chunky (and that is how all of my babies have been....)

Cruz has been SUCH a good boy.  He is finally on a predictable schedule for eating and sleeping...and starting to do well at night again. (He was in a rough patch last month). He is very tolerant of our busy summer schedule and is still happy to sleep in his carseat...or stroller...pretty much anywhere.  He even took a little nap in the dugout of Lola's teeball game on Saturday! He is starting to really give out laughs and smiles all of the time...and is sitting up well, which makes him much happier during playtime!  Here are a few more pictures of our littlest little piggy.

everyone loves to snuggle the baby...

when he sleeps with a crocheted blanket like this...he always wiggles his toes
until they come out of the holes...

fun at a grillout...

check out his muscles

safety first.

whobody is SO done with school?

Okay...okay...okay! School was actually over like 3 weeks ago...but summer has seemed SO busy that I haven't made time to catch up on this blog! Therefore, just to 'get it done' I am going to lump the rest of the school stuff into ONE post...  The kids are both happy to be done with school, but they don't know it. :) They both claim to miss school...but they are LOVING more free time and play time and outside time (not to mention, staying up later).

The first exciting thing at the end of the school year was the day that Lola got to ride the bus to school with Keaton to go to a practice day of Kindergarten. She LOVED this day (and so did her very tremendously hugely extremely proud big brother)! Lola had a great day, and is very much looking forward to Kindergarten.

Another thing at the end of the year was Keaton's Spring concert....here are Lola and Nash as spectators....

and here is Cruz as a spectator.... (I think he thought it was boring...;)

And...of course, Keaton as a performer....He loves this stuff!!!

The next week we had Lola's Preschool Graduation Program.  She stood up on stage VERY well, and was quite the little dancer and singer. (She really does think she is going to be a rock star someday). I didn't get many photos of her onstage because I was mostly taking videos with my camera...TOO CUTE!!!

Lola in her graduation cap... (I will be using this picture again in about 12 years....)

Then the day before the last day of school, I got to join Keaton's class on their field trip to Osborne. We had lots of fun...I love to see how he interacts with his friends! What a good kid!

Well...I am SO happy to see my kids be done with school. I like having them home more and knowing everything about their day (instead of having to ask them about it). I tell you what though...I am a little sad to know that Keaton is no longer a first grader...and Lola is no longer a Preschooler... It is hard for me to see my kids grow up. *Yes, I know that is what they are supposed to do....

Things are CRAZY though...we have Tee Ball/ Little League 4 times a week...we already had Bible School...and swimming lessons start TODAY and last for 2 weeks.  June is always crazy busy...but I am LOVING it.... (most of the time anyway). Luckily, Cruz is a very laid back traveler and has been excellent on all of our adventures!

whobody has big shoes to fill?

Well...the end of the school year has come and gone...and things are C.R.A.Z.Y. around here!  We have had field trips, concerts, preschool graduation, tball games AND little league pitching machine games.  Let me just tell you...THIS is also Jason's busy time of year...so although he IS taking time off for the important stuff (like tball... :)  it is pretty much just me and the kiddos around here!

This is a picture of what happened pretty much every morning before school during Keaton's last week... (yes, those are Jason's shoes...and yes, Nash did successfully pedal in them...)
For some reason, (probably because early in May, Lola got to ride the bus with Keaton to go to Kindergarten practice...) Nash truly...TRULY thought he was going to be able to get on the bus with Keaton. So...he would go outside when Keaton would...ride bikes with him...and then the bus would pull in and Nash would yell "BYE MOM!!!" and then look at me for the 'okay' to get on the bus. I would just say "nice try..." and try to be all jokey jokey about it...and then distract him as the bus pulled away.  I think he knew it really wasn't going to happen...but he wanted to try it JUST IN CASE it worked out in his favor.....
His 'outfit' for school usually consisted of jammies..a back pack....shoes (usually either not his...or on the wrong feet...and sometimes both)...and on special days (when Nash helped me do Lola's hair) he would have pretties in his hair too!

Like I said, we have been pretty busy with all of the usual Spring stuff. I will hopefully blog about the concert, graduation, field trip and ballgames...but for now...just a quick catch up. (and, of course, some funny pictures of Nash)

With school coming to an end, I wanted to enjoy my last few mornings with just the little boys and I before Keaton and Lola were home for the summer....so, the rules got a little bit looser around here.

Nash got to choose his spoon for his cereal in the morning....
It took him a LONG time to eat that day...

And now he is allowed to ride bikes in the house.....(Okay...this one was NOT okay with me...) I don't know why, but he does this ALL of the time....he just come gliding in and says "Hey, Mommy!" as if it is totally normal and acceptable to ride his bike INTO the house.  I swear I don't even laugh at him or encourage him.... (except by snapping a quick picture)

Nash likes to push 'baby cooz' in the stroller with his "tahoe"...
(okay, I didn't really let this fly either)

And he always wants to hold 'baby cooz'....so I took a picture! Later...I noticed that he was actually trying to cut 'baby cooz's' leg off with a plastic saw! "Nashy workin' Mom..."

And, finally, the ol'-bike-down-the-slide trick... still doesn't work.....
Like I said...things have been pretty busy.  Jason and I are coaching BOTH Keaton and Lola's little league teams...so we have that 4 times a week (yikes!).  School actually just got out on Tuesday...so hopefully we will get things a little more under control around here.  I am SO glad to have my kids home for the summer...school is SO LONG!!! I will catch up with the other stuff I want to blog about soon...but for now, I am going to snuggle Baby Cooz!
