whobody turned 10?

Keaton turned TEN (last month).
I can't believe I have a 10 year old. That can't be possible.

He is really growing up. I would love to go on and on about him….but if I do that, I won't get this done!  So, sometime I will…but for now, just know that he is a GREAT kid.

(And, my new favorite ten year old.)

For his birthday, we celebrated a few different times. First, cake at home the night before his birthday. (His actual birthday is always so busy since it is St. Patrick's day.)

Then, of course, on his birthday, they all dressed in GREEN for school.  After school, we headed to Elkader for the St. Patrick's Day Parade…and annual impromptu pizza with friends. Yes, I said annual…because we do it every year….but I also said impromptu….because we really don't plan it! :) Funny, huh?

The following weekend, Keaton invited a few friends to stay overnight at our house. It was a beautiful day, so they spent a lot of time outside. The kids were SO good with Lola, Nash and Cruz and included them in everything. They had so much fun.

Finally, on Sunday evening, we had the family over for a birthday party before the dreaded UNI loss to Louisville.  The kids always have fun playing with their cousins!

Keaton had an excellent birthday…and really enjoyed all of our celebrations! What a great kid.

whobunny loved Easter?

our Easter weekend

coloring eggs
The kids love to do this. The older 3 take it very seriously…
and Cruz, well, he enjoys pretty much everything.

Below was the moment that he said
"don't crack your eggs…otherwise the chick will escape!"
He was totally serious, nodding his head like he was a professor teaching his older siblings.

For the record, we were not coloring
eggs with chicks in them.

egg hunt in clayton
The Saturday before Easter is the traditional egg hunt in Clayton. The kids love this tradition and enjoy running into their friends here.

Nash and Cruz were on the preschool side, and Keaton and Lola were across the street with the bigger kids.  We are so blessed to be able to live so close to the beautiful Mississippi River.

anytime we take a family picture, they always want to take a silly one too

Easter church

We ended up going to Easter church on the Saturday night before Easter. (We wouldn't have time on Sunday morning because we would be traveling to Aunt Tessa's for lunch.) So, I got the kids dressed up, and attempted a group picture.  Always an adventure!

Of course, in keeping with the silly picture idea…Lola decided to pick up 'little red hen' to join our Easter picture.

So, of course, Cruz and Nash picked up the nearest silly things too.
It is a miracle that no one got hurt.

We headed to church, and then after church we went out for dinner in Guttenberg!
We had a nice meal…and I just couldn't help but take pictures of Dirx in his shirt & tie. Heart melter.

A few attempts at another group shot.

Mr. Nash picked out his own tie…and refused church shoes.

Easter Day
Easter morning, the kids found their Easter baskets, and then we headed to Tessa's house.  While there, the kids did an egg hunt and got lots of great treats!

Dirx didn't really care for the egg hunt.
(He may have been ready for a nap…but still super cute.)

We even got to go see some animals!

When Dirx finally hit his nap wall…we loaded in the car, and headed back towards home.  We went straight to Grandma and Grandpa Reimer's house for dinner and ANOTHER egg hunt!
The kids had a great time.

Our Easter weekend was very busy, but it was good.
Luckily, Jason was not in the field, so he was able to spend the weekend with us too.
Hope you all had a great Easter!
